Itp mudlites 22x11x9
ive got a 08 ds450x with the stock 20" holeshots on the back and where i live that does not cut it, alot of my trails are single track where i have to ride in the ruts of the 4x4's and im always getting hung up.
i dont race, i dont really "jump" it, ya i may catch some air off a few waterbars or something, but i never really jump it. i need a 22" tire, i know your gonna say 22" tires suck and all that but, i had 22" tires on my old quad and they didnt do too bad. im looking at the ITP Mud Lite AT ATV Tire | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC the reason i want them over say a bigger holeshot tire is the trails are muddy at times and the lug pattern on the holeshot tires from my experience fill up too quick and i just spin.
anyone have any experience with the itp mudlites on a ds450?

If you ride nothing but trails I say go with them. I seen those tires a while back and almost bought them. I think they would also work well with snow. My riding varies though so I need something that I can use on the track, trail, and everything in between. I even watched youtube videos with 2 wheel drive quads tearing up some mud pits with tires like these on. For $125 for the rear two tires I don't think you can really go wrong. Oh by the way I really don't like holeshots unless you ride on tracks or hardpacked trails. They just don't hook up unless its dry.

yeah, i live in northern new hampshire, the trails here are extremly roughy, rocky, and rutted, me and my small group of riding buddies are the only ones i see around here with sport quads, sometimes it is hard going but for the most part the riding is decent.
i just ordered the mudlite's will be in next friday, ill let you know how i like them. i think i am gonna stick with the stock holeshot tires for the front for turning and stuff, those are alright, i just hate the idea of mismatched tires, but its something i can live with.

a very good tire for you also would be maxxis's razr 2, they have great lugs, 6 ply tire, and awesome sidewall protection with the knobbies on the sides big enough to help you in those ruts and they come in 22", another thing you could do since you stated you ride the 08 x is get rid of the stock aluminum swingarm skidplate! they are over an inch lower than aftermarket ones you can buy, that would help with your clearance a little also

well now im a bit concerned, i just got the mudlites in from ups, and i put them next to my stock 20" tire and they were the exact same height now keep in mind these mudlites say 22" right on them and there not on a rim yet, now my question is will they get taller with air in them? if not i may have wasted money buying these, because gaining ground clearence was my only goal for this.

Yeah they will grow once on a rim and aired up. I thought the same thing once when buying truck tires going from a 265 to a 285 but once on the rim and aired up it was a huge difference.
