I have the rpm, its a nice axel and i run the stock 08 base model carrier and bearings without any problems, also have the trx450r rear sproket hub and its awesome to just pay $20 to swap sprokets instead of having a ds, comparing sproket prices honda stuff is always easier to find and cheaper. Just saying RPM makes really nice stuff.

Is there any way you could weigh the two axles? I'm curious to sere which of the two are lighter. I have had great luck with the XMX axle, only broke one. It was 3 years old and I had lost carrier bearings in a race with the axle... it should have been thrown in the trash haha, the axle still lasted 2 years after the carrier blew up!

I wouldnt have changed from an XMX, but i did indeed bend myne twice, once was a bad crash. And i dont trust it to keep running it as a main axle. So i have to get a new one and I was told a new XMX axle is in the $400 dollar range and so is a dominator. Plus the dominator has a warrenty. So its kinda a no brainer. I will see if i can find a scale when it comes in.

My bearing carrier blew apart on my base 08 DS with less than 10 hours on the quad, the axle still looked good except for groves from the bearings(it was a xmx axle I bought from Wienen). Got a new xmx axle, sprocket hub and bearing carrier with bearings and seals from motoworks. Local machine shop bent the hub when they pressed it on so I sent the axle back to motosport and they pressed me a new hub and only charged me for the new hub.
I have had great luck with Axcaliber on YFZs so if I buy another axle it will be the hollow Axcaliber with their billet hub on it.

Need help!! i have a 2008 that the rear axel got messed up cause the bearing carrier blew apart. It also damaged the sprocket hub. I bought a used hub that was on a 2009 but the metal cup that goes over the bearing seal doesnt seem to fit on the hub. Does it have to be pressed on or its cause theres a difference between the 2008-09? And from what a read i guess i have to get the hub pressed on the axel right? please let me know wtf is going on with this. thx
