AXLES...AXLES... AXLES... What to do.

So i have bent my XMX axle for the second time. The first time was in a very very bad crash involving my DS tumbling end over end.

I straigtend it in a press and all was good. Well after a few weeks of hard racing on stock XMX shocks (CUSTOM AXIS ON THE WAY ALREADY) i bent the axle again.

So here is the million dollar question. Do i buy another XMX axle? Or do i buy a dominator? Price is the same for either new roughly. I would buy a used XMX axle if i can ever find one.

What do i do?

TRX 350R 86- Stock frame LSR swinger, Axis rear, LSR +2 Front, +4 Axle, Knight suspensin. BDT ProX 350.

You mean the RPM dominantor ? Is $410 shipped a good price for a new one with billet sprocket hub?

I would guess any of them will bend a 2nd time after you straiten then. I have had good luck from the ones that lone star racing makes but the only reason I would buy aftermarket rather them DS OEM is for the life time replacement.

I have never bent an XMX Axle, on two DS's. Both have copped hard racing and some fairly decent crashes. Most of the guys who race the Can-Am at the high levels in the states still use the XMX Axle don't they?

unfortunatly i have bent one.

Never had this issue on my 250R.

And actually its harder to bend an axle after you have bent and straighten it. Its called work hardening. Makes metal harder but more brittle, aka more likley to snap. But harder to bend each time you straighten it.

So a RPM dominator axle with a billet hub is worth $410?

Im hoping that I dont have that issue with my mx. I do know that my next aftermarket axle I buy will NOT be a durablue. I bought one for my 09 Z400 and always had issues with it. Not real fond of the way the hubs are bolted on. I Think my next one will be the RPM Dominator or an Axcaliber. Im sure others will disagree on the durablue but just my previous experience wasnt good.

I run an XMX and an axcaliber and have also bent an XMX previously in the past. Also what bearings and bearing carrier are you using?

Stock XMX 09 I assume. No idea how many bearings are in it.
