I have some questions about the Can am DS450 2015. We are a Swedish BRP team and we have recently got a new team rider that will represent us in Quad Freestyle! And he's the only one in sweden riding Can am in ramp or quad freestyle at all! Hehe. So.. the problem we have is that, when he yesterday tried to make his first jump with the Can-am (earlier he was on KTM) the bike bogged and "died" when he pulled a litte of throttle just before leaving the ramp. The quad is totally standard, and brand new from the box. Have'nt even run a whole tank yet. (Maby that's the problem) Is there any break-in period on these machines? How should he set it up for ramp? Do you have any gearing tip? He feels the quad is a little "slow/weak" on the lower RPMs? Therefor i wonder if there is some break-in program in these? Whould be awesome if you could help us out in this! Many thanks, /Linus

Break-in is about 1 tank approx.

But remember warm the engine up completely before running it hard !!
The quad will deliver more power after 1 tank

Stock means also stock exhaust?

The stock engine runs very limited due to the exhaust!!

Please remove the heavy default pipe and change for an aftermarket exhaust (preferably full exhaust including header).

Wich brand? Just choose from FMF, Yoshimura, Motoworks (if they left some in stock), or another easy available in Europe.

I run with "stock engine" but with full exhaust FMF and Power Commander V, nothing else, and the quad runs fine. But the stock exhaust is terrible.

Get a full aftermarket exhaust. That will really help with the power issue. Also run an FMI or PCV and get it tuned. Stock gearing is fine and works good for us. Other than suspension upgrades and exhaust the DS is pretty good for fmx.
